Hi N.N.,
I heard from a friend living in the Netherlands that you might be able to help me.
My name is Joakim, and I’m living in Sweden, with diagnosed adhd and migraine. Because of that I’m currently trying to get my doctors to look into the area of medicinal cannabis. I have for the past 10 years gone through a variety of somewhere upwards 30 different medications, such as antidepressants, pain relievers, sleeping pills and lately also concerta for my adhd difficulties. None of them working properly or with severe enough unwanted effects.
The Swedish government is still on a zero-tolerance approach regarding narcotics, and also narcotic pharmaceuticals. It seems Sweden are even circumventing the Schengen agreement by allowing ANY narcotic medicine BUT cannabis to get through customs. Thus, apparently, making our own version of article 75 of the agreement making the original completely useless. This, and the Swedish doctors’ complete lack of knowledge, makes my situation complicated and very much a struggle to get my daily pains and complications acknowledged – and dealt with properly.
So any information that you could send regarding medicinal cannabis would be of great use to me, to hand over to my doctors. More specific, if you have studies regarding anxiety, depression, adhd or migraine and products such as Bediol – that would be much needed.
Thank you.
/ kind regards, Joakim Hedström

Dear Mr Hedström,
Thank you for your e-mail that I couldn’t answer earlier because I was not at the office last week.
First of all I have to tell you that it can be difficult to get medicinal cannabis into a country where cannabis is forbidden. A pharmacy or wholesale in your country has to ask an import-licence for the medicinal cannabis (mostly at your Ministry of Health) and then we can ask an export-licence in the Netherlands. The pharmacy or wholesale has to make a contract with our office. At this moment medicinal cannabis is used by patients in Italy, Germany and Finland.
I send you information about the medicinal cannabis in english [Information for Health Care Professional, pdf], also a list with a lot of medical research with good results [Overzicht wetenschappelijke publicaties (engels), pdf]. If you want to search more information you and your doctor can visit the website from the International Association for Cannabis as Medicine (IACM): http://www.cannabis-med.org. You can find hondreds of data from (clinical) research at this site.
From all the indications you mentionned I heard from patients that cannabis may help against the symptoms.
I hope I have answered all your questions. If you have more questions then let us know.
Yours sincerely,
N.N.

Men go get em! ditt arbete leder oss utan tvekan närmare en större debatt och närmare en legalisering, Keep up the good work!
