Good morning,

and thanks for the swift answer. I’m a swedish patient with adhd, migraines and also daily headaches since I was a child. I’ve been seeking medical help in Sweden for the last 26 years, and tried many pharmaceuticals with little or no effect.

I’ve come to realize that the times I’ve tried cannabis in the past it has easied my pain substancially, and also lessened the problems I have with my adhd. Cannabis seems to make me much more focused and all-around more functional.

The Swedish doctors I’ve met during these last years have no plans on letting me try products such as those from Bedrocan, or even Sativex, due to ”our Swedish tradition of not prescribing those kinds of pharamaceuticals.” No matter how much I try to speak with them, and explain my experiences.

So I am currently gathering the funds to go meet with a doctor in Germany that is prescribing Bedrocan products to Europeans with adhd.

But since I’ve followed the state of medicinal cannabis in Finland I thought it’d be worth a chance of trying to get to meet a Finnish doctor – and see if she/he could meet me, and hopefully prescribe Bedrocan products or Sativex. It’s much closer, and would cost me less money.

Many thanks in advance.

/ kind regards, Joakim Hedström

Dear Joakim

We as a pharmacy can not get You a prescription.

We know one doctor who has been prescribing this kind of medicin to patients, but this doctors field of expertice is in MS- and because of this he is not keen to treat other indicatons with cannabis. ( This is to secure hes ability to treat hes own patients, and not to be owervhelmed with patients who just want cannabis)

Other big problem is that every cannabis prescription needs a special permit from the national health inspectorate, and you being a swede, I do not think that our inspectorate is going to approve or even take Your application in process.

Hopefully You have allso taken in consideration, that this treatment with cannabis costs 67euros/5g which lasts about 2-3 days. So we are talking about a very expencive medicin.

I m sorry that I sound very harsh in my reply, but chances for You to get a cannabis prescription from Finland are very slim.

Best regards
N.N.
